Our Story
Born in 1872 on a small Greek island, Giannis (Geno) nurtured a small plot of land dedicated to the craft of cultivating pistachio trees while raising eight children’s. Four-generations later, John (Geno's grandchild) along with his children experts in agriculture and food technology, are still carrying their ancestors' dreams, despite societal pressures. Honouring a legacy rooted in discipline, perseverance, and balance; and an understanding of what truly matters in life.
Today the farm has expanded to 300 acres nested in the region that has now become renowned for producing some of the best pistachios in the world, thanks to the island’s unique climate (salty sea breeze, lack of irrigation, and nutrient-rich soil) combine to produce their exceptional taste boasting a sweeter and more complex flavour than other pistachio varieties.
Driven by the same virtues and values, I met the family and learned about their story during a vacation. The journey started as a personal quest—a way to satisfy my insatiable sweet tooth without compromising my health. As an athlete, maintaining a fit, healthy body has always been a priority, but it hasn’t been easy. I’ve struggled with the crash that follows sugary sweets, the spikes in glucose, and the impact it all has on body fat and energy levels. Pistachio spread was the only sweet treat that struck the perfect balance. It gave me the sweetness I craved without the downsides—no sugar rush, no energy crash, just wholesome satisfaction. Pistachio spread became my sweet spot: a perfect blend of flavour, sweetness, and nutrition. From here I met the Geno family, quickly resonated with their story, inspired by their journey and filled with desire to help, I decided to quit my job in hospitality and start Pistachio Geno. To inspire balance and help others find their own sweet spot—a place where they can enjoy life’s little indulgences while staying true to their health
